ProActive School is different from other companies in the education arena supplying technology services. ProActive School was founded on the simple premise of improving and enhancing the educational process in a way that would allow schools to devote more resources directly to student education. Our mission started at the grass roots level, talking with administrators, teachers, and parents to understand their issues and concerns. This was followed by an in-depth analysis of the application systems utilized and the associated processes surrounding them. The results of the analysis concluded that most schools manage many separate applications systems where the data is often difficult to access by all required parties; provides little, if any, real-time data integration among applications data; lacks education industry standards use; does not provide web-based access; and, the overall level of data security is questionable. Coincidentally, Rod Paige, Ed. D., the then U.S. Secretary of Education, was well aware of these problems when on January 7, 2005 he recommended that all future RFPs and purchasing decisions use the School Interoperability Framework (SIF) which defines the standardized fields for data storage and retrieval among all the applications data in the school enterprise. This is the first step in streamlining the significant data management issues schools face.

The ProActive School solutions are focused on the future direction of education information technology by being based on the SIF standard and Open Technologies as a foundation. Using the ProActive School solution, schools do not need to spend additional capital nor replace their existing applications. The annual service fee provides schools with the hardware, software, personnel, facilities, processes and operations required to deliver the services. The services operate on INTEL-based servers using SSL transaction encryption in a 24x7 secure facility with 99.9% uptime availability and daily off-site backups.
